Inside and Outside Bets

In roulette there is a distinction between inside and outside bets. The experienced uk casino players know what these terms mean, but many newcomers to the game do not. The terms come from a description of the table layout. Looking at the layout, the numbers one through thirty-six are in the three columns in the grid. A bet placed on a specific number is called a Straight Up bet and has the highest payout of thirty five to one. This bet has the chip placed directly on the number. The straight up is only one kind of bet that can be placed on the grid.

There are other bets that involved combinations of numbers. These bets are designated by the placement of the chip on the layout, i.e., on the line between two numbers, on the boundary line on the edge of the grid, etc. Bets of this nature are referred to as Inside Bets. The total of a player’s inside bets cannot exceed the table minimum.

Bets placed in areas outside of this numbered grid are referred to as Outside Bets. These are the even money bets and the “2 to 1” bets.  For example, Red” and “Even” are outside bets. The total of the outside bets are also subject to the table minimum and in some cases there is a limit as to the amount of the specific bet.  Outside bets have the lowest payout but are usually the safest bet. Outside bets are usually how new players begin playing roulette.

The online casino sites also offers to play roulette, internet bingo, poker and many other exciting casinos games for casino players.
