Play, in the game of roulette, centers around the roulette wheel which is on the casino gaming table. The wheel first appeared in 1765 in Paris . This is the wooden wheel with the thirty-seven r thirty-eight pockets in it. The numbers are around the outside of the wheel in alternating red and black colors. The numbers are on the wheel in a logical manner, even though it doesn’t make sense when you first look at it. The double zero is opposite the zero. The number one pocket is opposite the number two pocket. The number three pocket is opposite the number four pocket. They are not in consecutive order. They are arranged so that even and odd and high and low numbers alternate on the wheel. Every other pocket is colored red or black. The double zero pocket is green in color.
The numbers that are red: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 30, 32, 34 and 36.
The numbers that are black are: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 31, 33, and 35.
The numbers that are green are: 0 and 00
American version: 38 pockets
European version: 37 pockets
The game is played with the wheel spinning in one direction and the ball spinning in the other direction. The betting takes place on where the ball will land: on red, on black, on even, on odd, or on a specific number. This game is as popular as Bingo. |
